Since you're nom-ing for that fandom already, would you mind adding in Michelle Benoit and Cinder?

I'll add Michelle without hesitation, but I'll have to think about Cinder. Michelle was a great character and I wish we'd gotten to know more about her, but I'd forgotten about her until now since she only really has one scene, and she's not allowed to do much since she got tortured for three straight weeks.

My issue with Cinder is that while nomming (OM NOM NOM) her doesn't violate the letter of the law with RW, I feel like it would violate the spirit. She's the central character of three novels, and has had an assload of screentime, and she has a pretty large presence in the fandom as-is. If I was going to have a RW fic from the Lunar Chronicles, I'd want it to be from someone who doesn't get their chance in the spotlight. That's why I cut out Melisandre (who is one of my top five in the whole series) from my ASoIaF/GoT bracket; she's eligible, and has a small presence in fanon, but we get a lot of great canon moments with her, while Donella and Jeyne Westerling are barely above mentioned-only characters. Besides, I nominated Hunger Games last time as a last minute submission, and got three Foxface stories. It was interesting to see three different authors interpret the same non-speaking character three different ways, but it isn't my preferred fandom.

Tl;dr If I add Cinder, I would want it to focus on another of the characters too. Maybe I can add that in my Dear Author.

that makes total sense! I love that approach! Ya, don't put Cinder in - that's great. And Michelle is really who I want fic about anyways. She's such a badass I want to know all her history (especially her time as part of the Lunar brigade or whatever it was called). I'd be interested in a story about Michelle and her time hiding Cinder on the farm, but that's again, more of a Michelle story.

Yes, love your approach. Will rethink some of my nominations actually.
